Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In crowded public transportation such as buses, trains and so on, standing passengers feel fatigue and boringness. However, if they would occupy the seats in buses or trains at any times, it might cause moral hazard. To solve the problematic situation, we had proposed an entertainment system to motivate users to stand. In the proposed system, they have their own avatars, and the avatars grow up while their owners stand in buses or trains. The system discriminates whether an user is standing or not with an accelerometer. In this paper, we conducted an experimentation to evaluate the effectiveness of the system practically. As a result, it is found that the system can motivate participants to stand in buses or trains when their seats are almost occupied.
