Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Photon mapping enables the generation of the complex light environment as caustics, but requires vast amout of calculation time. On the other hand, photon mapping includes a high parallelism to be accelerated by utilizing GPU or FPGA. Therefore, this report examined the photon mapping accelerlater using FPGA, implemented photon search method in photon mapping, and evaluated for two FPGAs. The circuit realize the 1 [Operation/Clock] by processing multiple queries in parallel and provide throughput of approximatery 8 times to software execution on Intel Corei7 3.40GHz.
