Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For our taclie Braile e-learning for the visually impaired, that is, people with acquired vision loss, we research and develop to add voice assistance for the users. To clarify the optimal speech rate for the voice assistance, we experimented and compared three candidates: 400 Japanese characters per minute, which is reported to be the standard speech rate, 600 characters per minute and 800 characters per minute. Our results suggested 400 characters per minute was the most understandable speed for the visually impaired.
