Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Image inpainting is a method for generating a background of an object which is removed from an image. In the exemplar-based image inpainting, the background of the object is generated from a patch included in the same image. In the conventional exemplar-based method, the background is generated by pasting one patch that is selected from the image in an iteration. Therefore, when the selected patch includes an image structure, which occurs rarely in the image, an unpleasant inpainting result is obtained. This report proposes an inpainting method that generates the background from the set of the patches, which are selected from the image with rejecting outliers. In experiments, we show that the proposed method generates visually pleasant background for natural and texture images.
