Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a system to control and monitor sensor and information appliances connected to home networks of individual households through social networking service (SNS). The goal of the system is to easily monitor the elderly and collect usage of appliances as big data. To realize this goal, we use Twitter as infrastructure because it is easy to gather and diffuse information. All of information posted to Twitter is disclosed to the public and it is not supported to flexibly adjust the disclosure range. So, there is the problem that anyone can control devices illegally and abuse the information. We solve this problem by limiting control and access to devices depending on Twitter account name and the context of the user and the devices, by applying k-anonymity to device logs including geo-information, and by using the protected Twitter account. We implemented the proposed system, and measured the response time when controlling appliances through Twitter. As a result, the average response time was 18.1 seconds and we confirmed that the system is applicable to practical use.
