Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since IP multicasting transmissions in a wireless LAN does not support RTS/CTS procedure, there is no retransmission of lost packets in the data link layer or its lower layer, a high probability of packet loss due to collisions gives much negative effects on real time application quality. To solve this problem, we proposed a dual-use method of multicast and unicast assuming each mobile terminal has multiple interfaces. In this paper, we described development of a video transmission system using this method. And we describe a video transmission experiment using this system in IEEE802.11 wireless LANs, and evaluated PSNR of frames of transmitted video to show effectiveness of the proposed system.
