Abstract(in English) Electronic warfare (EW) referred to as any military action involving the use of electromagnetic waves is becoming important in modern warfare and vigorous R&D activities of EW technology are proceeding in industry, academia and government in various Middle East and Asian countries including Israel and China as well as in the U.S., European countries and Australia. On the occasion of starting the EW Research Group of the AOC Japan Chapter, this presents generalities about EW and bases of electronic technology which supports EW operations and systems from a viewpoint of defense science and technology with reference to academic papers and patent documents.
