Abstract(in English) Field-assembly optical fiber connector which does not need a coating removing and a fiber cleaning action before field assembles was developed. In order to reduce the coating removal force, the shape of the coating removal parts changed from the symmetry to asymmetry. The coating removal force can be reduced 30%. The coating removal parts successfully were produced by high precision molding technologies for a mass production. It can be achieved same size of the conventional field assembly optical connector included the coating removal parts. It was confirmed that optical coupling average loss is less than 0.22dB@λ1.55μm and reliability characteristics same as the conventional one.
