Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since the data traffic continues to increase with 40~70% per year, large transmission capacity will be highly required for optical fiber communication systems. Recently, space-division multiplexing (SDM) transmission by mode-division multiplexing (MDM) has been attracted as new generation optical fiber transmission system in order to realize large transmission capacity. In this work, we investigate the fiber parameters which meet design conditions for low bending loss and effectively few mode operation, the limit of A_ enlargement, and the differential mode group delay (DMGD) on few-mode fibers for MDM transmission.
