Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The main mission of Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) is high accurate positioning system. After the great East-Japan earthquake on March 11th, 2011, an additional mission of QZSS has been discussed and a location and short message satellite communication system is proposed which is effective for the large scale disaster relief. In this report, the outline of proposed location and short message QZSS communication system using spread spectrum code division multiple access (SS-CDMA) technology is described. For realizing large capacity return link (from mobile terminals to Quasi-Zenith Satellite (QZS)), we discuss wireless access method for QZSS using approximately synchronized (AS) CDMA and 1-bit flag radio frequency identification (RFID) inventory method.
