Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Acoustic sensing in the air has the potential to acquire information about an object such as its position, shape, material and movement effectively. Nevertheless, it is difficult to identify acoustic signals from small objects clearly because of environmental noises, sound attenuation and scattering of object surface. We have presented the performance of object detection using the M-sequence signal in an indoor environment. By using M-sequence signal, SN ratio is improved and we can measure the reflected waves from small object that can not be detected by using a conventional impulse. Simultaneous transmission of M-sequence signals enables high speed acoustic imaging, but image degradation by the inter-code interference becomes the problem. In this paper, we present a technique to get an equivalent image to multiple transmission image by using simultaneous transmission of M-sequence signals. To remove a inter-code interference, we investigated cross-correlation characteristics of all M-sequence pairs of 3-12 degrees. We found M-sequence pairs which have a larger maximum value of cross-correlation than conventional code pairs, but have long small cross-correlation part. A simultaneous transmission of M-sequence signals pair having proper cross-correlation enables acoustic imaging with low inter-code interference around the target.
