Development of IMD measurement system around 5GHz using HTS filters

Abstract(in English) We developed thrid intermodulation distortion (IMD3) measurement system around 5GHz for realization of transmit superconducting filters in mobile communication system. A superconducting two-signal thru filter (TTF) and an HTS notch filter were added to the IMD measurement system and, we compared their system noise levels. We designed and fabricated the TTF which composed of 2-pole resonators with the high power-handling capability and tunability. We also designed and fabricated the HTS notch filter which composed of 3-pole resonators with high attenuation and sharp skirt characteristics. The IMD characteristics which occured from each system were reduced 23.0[dBm] and 49.7[dBm] by using the TTF and the HTS notch filter, respectively. We found that the IMD characteristics related to the attenuation of the frequency characteristics of the inserted filter.
