Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel microwave kinetic inductance detectors named Spiral-MKIDs typified by a rewind spiral strip structure suitable for a broad band terahertz detector array application. A superconductng rewind strip works as a high-Q half wave length microwave resonator as well as a broad band antenna for terahertz light. The spiral-MKIDs fabricated with NbN thin films reveals a loaded quality factor of about 250,000 at the maximum. Broad band antenna performance of the spiral strip is confirmed by an almost constant return loss within the frequency range lower than 200GHz to higher than 2THz measured for a 100 times magnified room temperature model fabricated on a cupper foil PCB as well as numerical simulations.
