Face-to-face situation promotes positive emotional expression

Abstract(in English) Advanced information technology enables us to communicate with others in many situations, hi this study, we investigate the difference of emotional experiences between face-to-face and videophone situations, hi the experiment, participants were asked to listen to the other person talking either in face-to-face or videophone situations. The results showed that subjective evaluations of emotional experiences were not different between face-to-face and videophone situations, In contrast, participants in face-to-face situation expressed more positive facial expression than in videophone situation while listening to the positive story. This difference would make face-to-face communication better.
