Influence of Lubricant Replenishment on Characteristics of Gold Plate Slip-Ring System for Small Electric Power Supply

Abstract(in English) The authors have been investigating degradation process of Au plated slip ring and Ag-Pd brush system. However, even with lubricant the lifetime was varied from about 1000 hours to almost 7000 hours in the past experiments. In these tests the lubricant was supplied only once before the test. In the previous test the lubricant was regularly supplied almost every 900 operation hours, and-the operation more than 8000 hours was realized. The reason of long operation is guessed to be that the lubricant not only decreases wear but also suppresses oxidation of the Ni layer. In this test the lubricant is supplied almost every 1000 hours and the operation time is presently over 3500 hours. The contact resistance is still stable, but gradually increasing after 2500 hours. In addition the width of voltage fluctuation is found to be smaller just after the supply of the lubricant.
