Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes CodeForest that is a software visualization tool to support program comprehension tasks in software maintenance. This tool analyzes various kinds of features (the structure, characteristics, and dependencies) of software and then generates its data model based on metric values obtained through the analysis. The data model is visualized as a three dimensional image by using a metaphor that evokes the forest landscape. CodeForest providing such visualization has the potential to make program comprehension tasks more efficient. The paper also shows results of visualizing programs within 24 open-source projects.
