Estimation of Gaze Position on the Target Plane with Three Points Calibration Based on the Pupil Center

Abstract(in English) We propose a method to estimate gaze position on the target plane based on the pupil center. To improve the positional accuracy with less calibration effort, 3 or 5 calibration targets are used to determine the eye rotation center and the target plane. With 3 targets for calibration, the mean error of horizontal position was 15.6mm and that of vertical position was 7.00mm on the target plane 430mm away from the eye. With 5 targets, the mean error of horizontal position was 6.57mm and that of vertical position was 3.91mm. There is no remarkable reduction in the accuracy even if position of the calibration target includes 10% error in depth direction.
