Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Authors have discussed the simulator to estimate reflex of the spastic patients quantitatively from knee joint angular acceleration waveforms measured by the pendulum test. In this study, we improved the simulator so that the reflex could be estimated quantitatively by two indexes. We first integrated 3 stimuli from CNS to the spinal cord into two ones (stimulus F_γ, to γ-motoneuron and stimulus F_ to presynaptic inhibition neuron) corresponding to principal factors of the reflex by improving both models of the spindle and the spinal cord in the existing simulator. Next, we ascertained that the reflex could be estimated by the values of F_γ, and F_ that were determined from the angular acceleration waveform by the use of the simulator. This method will be notably advance quality of the spasticity estimation under the pendulum test in the final stage.
