Abstract(in English) A measurement platform that may realize a state of real use and good reproducibility is requested for measuring characteristics of headphones and earphones. Combination of a pinna model (simulator) based on IEC60268-7 with HATS based on IEC60318-7 (60959) has been recommended as one of measurement platforms. However, there is a problem that the reproducibility of measurement results changes according to a kind of the earphone. The reason would be because the ear canal structure of the pinna model is not sufficiently provided. Especially, the ear canal structure exerts a big influence on the reproducibility of the measurement result for Canal (insertion) type earphone. Therefore, a new pinna model that may exactly simulate the ear canal structure of a real ear was proposed in this report. From the measurement results, it was ascertained that the reproducibility can be certainly improved by using the new pinna model.
