Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Broadband analog network coding (ANC) has been drawing attention recently due to its potential to increase network capacity by exploiting the broadcasting nature of the wireless channel. However, channel state information (CSI) knowledge is required for self-information removal and signal detection. A low-complexity pilot-assisted channel estimation (PACE) scheme that does not require feedback of CSI from the relay has been presented for broadband ANC. In this work, we theoretically analyze the channel estimator's mean square error (MSE) performance and evaluate the throughput performance of broadband ANC using orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) with practical PACE by computer simulation and we compare it to that of the conventional CE scheme that requires feedback from the relay. The results show that although there is an increase in the MSE of the CE scheme without feedback, the benefit of eliminating the need of feedback can be seen in the throughput performance.
