Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In smart meter systems an access point (AP) has to communicate with stations (STAs) in a much larger cell than that in wireless local area networks. As the number of active STAs becomes large, the throughput and the delay performance of the Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol are degraded significantly. This paper proposes a STAs grouping method and a timing control method of periodic data frame transmissions. Using the proposed timing control method, the delay performance is improved and the power consumption of STAs is reduced.
