Impact of adjacent channel interference on throughput performance in wireless LAN networks

Abstract(in English) As the channel spacing is 20 MHz in IEEE802.11a using 5GHz band, it has been considered that the impact of adjacent channel interference is little not like IEEE802.11g using 2.4GHz band. However, it is reported that WLAN throughput can be degraded due to the adjacent channel interference even in 5GHz band with 20MHz channel spacing, according to arrangement of wireless LAN terminals' position. If wireless LAN networks will be deployed more densely in near future, adjacent channel interference can degrade the throughput performance. With this background, this paper describes the impact of the adjacent channel interference on throughput performance in WLAN network and shows the performance evaluation results by computer simulation.
