Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For wireless access network where many user terminals (UTs) share many access points (APs), power consumption of the network can be reduced by turning off APs which do not affect coverage of the network. The authors have proposed the power saving scheme which is combination of two schemes. One scheme defines a set of APs which are closely located each other as a cluster, and turns off all APs in the cluster except one AP. Another scheme turns off all APs in clusters whose coverages are covered by neighbor clusters. To clarify superiority of the proposed scheme, the authors conducted computer simulations with various density of APs and non-uniformed channel attenuation.
