Abstract(in English) This paper presents experimental results on the throughput for 4-by-2 multi-user (MU)-MIMO applying extended channel state information (CSI) feedback based on eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) in the LTE-Advanced downlink considering the influence of the number of CSI feedback quantization bits using the implemented LTE-Advanced transceiver. The results of the laboratory experiment show that, in a correlated antenna scenario assuming cellular environments with correlated base station (BS) antennas, the throughput performance for Rank-4 MU-MIMO is relatively robust against the number of CSI feedback quantization bits. Meanwhile, in a non-correlated antenna scenario assuming indoor/small cell environments with non-correlated BS antennas, we clarify that the number of quantization bits of 9 or more is clearly required to obtain sufficient throughput gain of Rank-4 MU-MIMO. The results also show that the achievable throughput for Rank-2 MU-MIMO and that for single user (SU)-MIMO are robust against the CSI feedback quantization. Furthermore, we confirm that same tendency is obtained in a indoor real propagation environment.
