Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) LTE (Long Term Evolution) allows us to provide low delay IP services. The delay performance may be degraded due to the layer 2 process between eNB (evolved NodeB) and UE (user equipment) such as TTI, concatenation, segmentation and HARQ (hybrid automatic repeat request) retransmission. However, it is difficult to estimate the delay distribution created by the layer 2 processes because the delay distribution are affected by traffic pattern and radio transmission environment. In this article, we modeled the delay pattern generated by the layer 2 process. Then we conducted numerical simulations using the model with various traffic patterns and various radio transmission environments. Then, the simulation results were compared with the delay performance obtained by the experiment with a real LTE system to validate the simulation model.
