Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In 2008, we proposed a new study question regarding Wide-Area Sensor and/or actuator Network (WASN) system; a public sensor network for wide areas with large accommodation capability, in International Telecommunications Union Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R). Through a series of discussions over a three and a half year period, the drafts on a Recommendation and a Report regarding WASN systems were successfully completed in November of 2011; the Report has been approved as a new Report and Procedure for the Simultaneous Adoption and Approval by correspondence (PSAA) for the Recommendation has been also approved. In this paper, the WASN systems which are defined as a new mobile wireless access system in ITU-R are introduced based on the contents of its Recommendation and Report.
