Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) HyRAL is the 128-bit block cipher proposed by Hirata in 2010. It has been shown that 13-round with 256-bit secret key is attackable by saturation attack using 9-round 64-th order differential characteristic. This paper shows a new 10-round saturation characteristic of HyRAL using 64-th order differential. The characteristic is a extension of 8-round synchronous 32-nd order differential characteristic from 3-rd round to 10-th round of HyRAL. We show the reason of this characteristics by (m, n)-model's property, and estimates the costs of attack using them. For the case of a 256-bit, secret key, it is possible to apply the saturation attack to 14-round HyRAL.
