Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose an automatic parameter adjustment method for audio equalizers using interactive genetic algorithm (IGA). It is very difficult for ordinary users who are not familiar with audio devices to appropriately adjust some parameters of audio equalizers. We therefore propose a system which can automatically adjust some parameters of audio equalizers based on user's evaluations for listening sound. The proposed system utilizes an interactive genetic algorithm for some parameters which are gains and sharpness (Q values) of peaking filters included in audio equalizers. We examine the evaluation time and fitness, which is an evaluation metric, between the five-stage and the tournerment evaluation methods through subjective evaluation tests.
