Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, an image restoration method by using Directional Lapped Orthonormal Transform (DirLOT), which the authors proposed previously, is investigated. The transform has an advantage in representing diagonal edges and textures in images because it is nonseparable processing and has directional property. This study, suggests to construct a redundant dictionary which has multiple directional property by using multiple directional symmetric orthonormal wavelet transform(DirSOWT). The multiple directional property is suitable for representing a natural picture containing diagonal geometrical structures. The dictionary is applied to image restoration and the performance is evaluated. In order to show the significance of the proposed method, the performance is also compared with the image restoration results through non-subsampled Haar transform. It is confirmed that the proposed method yields perceptually preferable results from experimental results.
