Abstract(in English) Wireless stations (STAs) used in the communication range of multiple Access Points (APs) have become common. A number of schemes aiming at maximizing the throughput of a specific STA have been proposed. However, the total throughput of all STAs connected to APs is not necessarily maximum in multi-rate communication environment. The authors previously proposed an AP selection scheme in which Received Opportunities Control (ROC), which does not response the ACK frame to the STA, is employed. However, since this scheme was applied to the case when a new STA joins in the communication range of APs, the total throughput of all STAs is not necessarily maximum when disconnecting and moving of STAs occur. This paper proposes a novel AP selection scheme which achieves the maximum total throughput of all STAs even when disconnecting and moving of STAs occur. Simulation results show that the total throughput of all STAs obtained by the proposed scheme is higher than that obtained by the conventional schemes.
