| Abstract(in English) | Android OS has spread rapidly for smart phones and tablet devices. The Android devices have a feature that is easily added functions by Android applications. In addition, the Android devices are based on powerful CPUs, they own considerable storage capacities, and large-band communication capabilities. Thus, the Android devices are expected to become the system component for versatile systems such as robot control and telemedicine. Meanwhile, the android issue reporting site currently contains more than 8,300 bug reports. Hence, it is difficult that the android devices used in the above systems because the android devices have the potential to become system failure by the bugs. In this paper, to confirm the necessity to propose the new scheme for dependable android applications, we examine the availability of Android smart phones by fundamental experiment. In addition, we propose a new active restart scheme for dependable android application based on result of examination. In our proposal, we introduce new software that periodically checks normality of Android applications. In addition, if the installed software detects abnormality of Android application, the software restarts the application to recover the abnormality. |
