| Abstract(in English) | Operations managers for systems to deliver software as a service (SaaS) have to monitor real-time data about heterogeneous applications and physical/virtual devices. Because the data are distributed across multiple monitoring software and servers, the operations managers have to spend a long time to monitor the systems. In this report, five basic data formats for real-time data is proposed. These proposed data formats support not only performance data monitored by existing monitoring software but also detailed logs of batch processings and web accesses that are important in monitoring the SaaS-based systems. To verify the completeness of these proposed data formats, surveys on twenty operations managers in data center, which provides B2B services, were conducted. The result of the survey shows that about 98.6% of monitoring tasks in the SaaS-based system can be covered by these proposed data formats. The result also shows the types of real-time data needed in each type of monitoring task. |
