Abstract(in English) | Authors proposed before a system to beautify human face images using an ε-filter bank, which is a nonlinear filter bank system. Considering human subjective assessment for face images, this system is designed by interactive evolutionary computing (IEC) using the genetic algorithm (GA). Face images are beautified through iteration of the process that multiple candidates of the beautified face images are presented on a computer display and the user selects some of them which he/she feels satisfactory. The number of the candidates is set around 10. From the questionnaires on the usability of this system, it was shown that many of the users feel inconvenient in the iterative process of selecting satisfactory face images from many candidates. Moreover, the number of the candidate images should be reduced in order to use this system on portable consoles with small display. In order to reduce the candidate images and improve the usability, a method to improve the way of IEC is proposed. Here, the initial candidate images are appropriately designed and the generation change is modified so that the fully satisfactory face image is efficiently generated . The subjective assessment for the new system is shown to be higher than the previous one. |
