Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The bilateral filter is a nonlinear smoothing filter which can remove Gaussian noise while preserving edges in an image. The robust self-cross bilateral filter is an improved bilateral filter in order to correspond also to impulsive noise by using the weights composed of a supplementary image and iteration process. This paper proposes a more robust filter for impulsive noise by introducing a switching median filter to the self-cross bilateral filter. It is confirmed that the proposed method have better results than the robust self-cross bilateral filter and the mode filter in experiments of the image corrupted with both Gaussian noise and impulsive noise.
