A Method for Interactive Color Arrangement System Considering Difference of Brightness

Abstract(in English) We propose a method to support the color scheme of designs such as Web pages using interactive evolutionary computing. This system can set the brightness of each region depicted in the design considering the user's intension. Using the difference in brightness, this system enables color vision defectives to identify each area in graphical designs. In order to make each region distinguishable by its brightness, the difference of the brightness should be set at large, however the range of the difference is limited, because at least four levels are required to distinguish any patterns of design on the basis of four-color theorem. Thus, interactive evolutionary computing is newly introduced to allocate the four-level brightness with limited difference in order to make the design comprehensible on the basis of the user's subjective criteria. Moreover, color information is added to realize a system which can optimize the allocation of both the brightness and the color considering the user's intention and taste.
