Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical paths have various lengths of holding time in optical WDM networks depending on various network services. There are different characteristics between connections with short holding time and those with long holding time. It is necessary to apply different path set-up methods considering the holding time of users for utilizing network resources efficiently. Furthermore, the network traffic is large and rapidly changes in time. Therefore, the method that accurately estimates the state of current traffic and predicts the state of future traffic becomes more important, especially for connections with long holding time. In this paper, we propose a traffic prediction method that can deal with large changes in traffic in optical WDM networks, and a path set-up method by using this prediction method. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method by computer simulations.
