Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We construct all-optical networks of the optical circuit switching (OCS) transmission which establishes lightpaths between end nodes generally. The optical code division multiplexing (OCDM) technology is now focused because it can allocate the granular and flexible bandwidth, switch asynchronously, and be implemented easily. However, the OCS transmission needs more time than the round trip time to establish a lightpath. Therefore, as the data size transferred through the network becomes small, the overhead to establish the lightpath becomes large and the network performance becomes worse. In our previous work, we proposed a design of hybrid optical network which has the OCS network and the optical broadcast network, and evaluated the basic performance of both networks. In this paper, we evaluated the performance of proposed hybrid optical network and its control method in the case that various data traffic is accommodated. As the results, we showed that our proposed network reduced the rising of the call loss probability and dramatically reduced the call waiting time.
