Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Information security management has been an inevitable issue at educational organizations, and several information processing centers at national universities in Japan have built and maintained information security management systems (ISMSs) to address the issue. Since these ISMSs are basically designed for information security of IT infrastructures and they are maintained mainly by educational staff, the scoped area of the ISMSs comprise educational organizations and just some (or none) of organizations in administrative bureaus. Administrative bureaus, however, play an important role in information security for information systems as well as sensitive privacy information, and investigating their appropriate roles in and responsibilities for ISMSs at universities is inevitable in securing effectiveness of and extending the scope of ISMSs. In order to provide practical information for the exploration, this report illustrates four cases in the following organizations: Center for Information Infrastructure at Shizuoka University, Media Network Center at Utsunomiya University, Media and Information Technology Center at Yamaguchi University, and Center for Administration of Information Technology at the University of Tokushima. We hope that this study of these diverse cases leads to ISMSs including various activities at universities. |
