Abstract(in English) | This article provides a splice loss for the TE mode of Bragg fibers by considering an axial displacement and angular misalignment. Evaluations are made by numerical and approximate analyses. Several items are revealed as follows: (i) A high-accuracy, analytical approximation is obtained even using core fields alone. (ii) Photonic bandgap is reflected on the splice loss property. (iii) The TE mode with lower-order exhibits a low loss for the axial displacement. |
