| 抄録(和) | 本論文では屋外に設置された固定カメラを対象とし,人物などの前景物体を除去した背景画像を推定する手法を提案する.屋外のシーンには,日照変化や,風に揺れる木や旗など常に繰り返し変化する背景中の物体が存在するため,従来このような物体の変化を再現しつつ,人物などの前景物体を除去することが難しかった.本手法は,画像を小ブロックに分割した上でブロックごとに固有空間を構築し,各ブロックにおいて観測画像の背景固有空間中での時間変化を時系列フィルタを用いて推定することにより,背景画像を推定する.これにより,これまで困難であった,各ブロックが前景物体によって大きく遮られている場合においても尤もらしい背景画像を推定することが可能となる.実験では比較手法と提案手法によって,様々な定点カメラによって得た画像に対して生成した背景画像を比較することで,本手法による背景画像生成の有効性を示した. |
| 抄録(英) | In outdoor scenes, there are usually many background objects moving repeatedly, such as trees or flags, which are swinged by wind. There are also illumination changes caused by sunlight. Therefore it is difficult to estimate the background by preserving the illumination changes and the movements of such background objects. In this paper, we propose a background estimation technique for an outdoor fixed camera using temporal statistics of background variations. In this technique, first, we devide an image into blocks and build a background eigenspace for each block. Then we apply temporal filtering to estimate the current background in the background eigenspace. We experimentally evaluate its effectiveness by comparing the results of the proposed and existing methods for several surveillance cameras. |
