Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is the most important transport-layer protocols in the current Internet. Its performance, especially the performance of congestion control mechanisms, plays an important role since most of current Internet applications, including Web, P2P file sharing, VoD streaming services, utilize TCP. In this report, we first summarize congestion control mechanisms of TCP, and present recent researches on its problems. We also introduce our latest research topic on energy-efficient TCP, which tries to decrease power consumption of data transmission over Wireless LAN by modifying TCP's data transmission behaviors.
