Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A deformable tracker based on curved Gaussian density is proposed to improve the accuracy and robustness of lip measurement in this paper. In the proposed tracker, two hue histograms of upper and lower lips, considered as templates, are used to match the hue values of image pixels to obtain their density distributions. For any density distribution, calculating its curvature by using quadratic-curve fitting, straightening it, outlining its shape by an ellipse, and curving the ellipse lead to obtain a banana-shaped contour of the upper or lower lip. The proposed tracker can be implemented in real time because of its simple structure.
