Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Context-awareness provides users with more versatile user interface environments in using digital devices since the style of user interface can be adaptively changed according to the user's situation or preference. In a TV viewing environment, the techniques of context-awareness can be used for adequate recommendation of the information related to the viewed program. In order to incorporate user's preference in doing so, it is vital to infer whether the viewer is currently interested in the TV program or not. Then we propose a method for inferring the viewer's interests in watching TV using Conditional Random Fields(CRF). In the proposed method, we take the problem of inferring the viewer's interests for the one of sequential labeling problems and infer the viewer's interests by applying CRF to the time sequential signals into which the various information, which are tablet manipulation and outputs of vision processing, are integrated.
