Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Japan, mobile satellite communication systems are now in service on S-band frequency. Moreover, the Quasi Zenith Satellite (QZS-1) Michibiki has been launched in September 2010, which is expected to start its positioning/navigation experiments soon. Such highly accurate global positioning systems require wide frequency band. In order to ensure highly accurate satellite measurements, knowledge about the wide-band propagation path characteristic becomes important. In urban areas, high elevation propagation paths are affected by the building walls and deep fading is generated. In this paper the analytical results of the propagation characteristics as well as the broadband frequency characteristics are evaluated under condition of a Quasi Zenith Satellite Orbit and an urban environment in a big city by using the high satellite elevation angle (HSEA) wall reflection model.
