Abstract(in English) | New techniques are strongly desired for signal integrity improvement on PCB traces in GHz-era because conventional impedance-matching techniques, which have been used in MHz domain, have not worked well any longer. In order to meet the desire, we propose a new signal integrity improvement technique based on an idea of impedance-reconfiguration, in which the trace is composed of multiple traces and their characteristic impedances are reconfigured to improve distorted waveforms. In this paper, we introduce fundamental structure and design methodology of the proposed idea. Furthermore, we fabricate its prototype and evaluate its effectiveness. |
