Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been developing a versatile voice output communication aid (VOCA), named "VCAN/1A", which can be customized freely in order to answer a wide variety of individual needs. Due to its high ability of communication, an operation log of VCAN/1A can be considered to include information on user's ability of communication. In order to utilize such information for evaluating user's communication skills, we have been developing a support system for evaluating user's ability of communication, which can translate original log data into those understandable for his or her supports, using a functional classification table of all switches. Results of sensory tests for 5 different supporters demonstrated that aims and operation of the system were relatively understandable, while its human interface components should be improved.
