Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a pixel matching technique in order to reduce artifact in temporal subtraction images of sequential chest radiographs. In this study, we evaluated the proposed method by using temporal subtraction images obtained from 100 pairs of a normal previous chest radiograph and a current chest radiograph with a simulated nodule. These 100 cases were sequentially selected from screening examinations with a computed radiography system. Our experimental results indicated that a suitable kernel size in the pixel matching technique was 3 pixels and, moreover, the pixel matching technique can reduce artifact in temporal subtraction images compared to conventional technique.
