Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been developed an automatic detection system for anatomical landmarks in torso CT images. However, the system has a problem of being instable given an image volume with relatively small imaging range. The aim of this study is to solve this problem by introducing a new fast algorithm for estimating the landmark point outside of the given imaging range. It enables the system to estimate an out-of-range landmark position candidate and to add it to the candidate list before each sampling. With this improvement, the system became more stable with volumes of small imaging range. The proposed algorithm was evaluated with clinical CT datasets.
