Abstract(in English) | A portable driving data recording system is developed using a smartphone with the Android OS and an in-vehicle network for recording driving data from various types vehicles. The system can record such driving data as vehicle acceleration, GPS location, video, vehicle velocity, steering angle, and gas and brake pedal positions. These driving signals are recorded from three different types of vehicles. Among these signals, we focus on pedal operation signals and analyze the individual characteristics of pedal operation behavior through driver identification experiments. A 100% identification rate is obtained for seven-driver identification using gas and brake pedal position signals, as well as an 82% identification rate is obtained even for different types of vehicles. Although some differences are observed in pedal position signals for different types of vehicles, common individual characteristics are observed for each driver. |
