A study on reliability evaluation technique for IPTV service

Abstract(in English) Evaluating and managing the network reliability played an important role because the period from the design to the deployment including the functional addition tends to shorten in recent IP networks constructed of commercial equipments.The authors have been established the reliability evaluation methods that used the measure, Unavailability, for reliability evaluation in IP networks. However, the appliance for upper layer services that is diversified from now on, is not established. In this paper, the reliability evaluation technique which targeted IPTV service that is the killer contents in Next Generation Networks is proposed. This paper describes the conventional network reliability models is extended, based on feature and characteristics of IPTV service. Moreover, we proposed the weight of each outage in consideration of social influence and clarify the future issues in evaluation phase.
